Torna su lepilloledistefano Sohrâb Chitan in un video da non perdere!

Avevo già parlato qui di Sohrâb Chitan. Conosciuto grazie ad una semplice foto sul web, che mi aveva incantato per grazia ed eleganza, e contattato per farmi raccontare il magnifico, ma pieno di sacrifici, mondo della danza. Ho risentito il ballerino in occasione della messa online di un video, in cui è possibile ammirarlo in tutta la sua bravura, e non ho resistito a chiedergli come sono cambiate le cose dall’ultima nostra chiacchierata che risaliva a 8 mesi fa. Tante le novità che Sohrâb ci racconta, ma soprattutto vi invito ad andare a vedere il video realizzato dal duo  Pierre & Florent, in cui balla sulle note di Chopin. /  I’ve already wrote here about Sohrâb Chitan. Known thanks to a simple fascinating picture on the web, that enchanted me with his grace and elegance, and decided to contact and interview him to know better the beautiful, but full of sacrifices, dance world. I’ve recently talked again with the dancer thanks to a new online video, where you can admire him in all his cleverness, and I could not resist asking him how things have changed since our last conversation that goes back to 8 months ago. Sohrâb tells us a lot of news, but above all I invite you to go and see the video realized by the duo Pierre & Florent, in which he dances to the music of Chopin.

Ed ecco cosa ci racconta Sohrâb Chitan a riguardo / Ande here is what Sohrâb Chitan tells us about his latest work:

“TIMEless Ballet è passato attraverso un sacco di cambiamenti nel corso del 2012. Con i membri della compagnia abbiamo deciso di concentrarci su un ballerino solo. Abbiamo anche deciso di cambiare il sito web, il mondo della compagnia stessa e lo stile coreografico. Abbiamo deciso di dimenticare per un po’ il balletto “Butterfly” e di concentrarci su piccoli spettacoli di danza.
Il 13 dicembre 2012, Dominique Belly, direttore del teatro “Le Liburnia” a Libourne, una città vicino a Bordeaux, mi ha dato la possibilità di ballare e dimostrare ciò che la compagnia può fare con uno spettacolo che duri 10 minuti. Ho accettato e preparato due assoli in sole 3 settimane. Uno sulla musica del band post-punk Bauhaus e uno sul “Nocturne No. 20″ di Frederic Chopin. Ma la cosa più importante per me non era solo mostrare una coreografia, ma dimostrare che 10 minuti può essere un tempo sufficiente per raccontare una storia. Ecco perché ho pensato che un interludio sarebbe stato giustificato tra i due assoli. In questo interludio ho cercato di spiegare cosa provo per il mondo di oggi. In quel momento i media continuavano a mostrare le cose terribili che stavano accadendo in Siria. Mi hanno ricordato il massacro di Sabra e Chatila che ha avuto luogo in Palestina nel 1982 e ho avuto la netta sensazione che il mondo non fosse cambiato in 30 anni. È per questo che ho preso i rumori di una bomba atomica e le grida delle donne durante il massacro di Sabra e Chatila. Il Notturno di Chopin viene dopo questa parentesi e con la danza e l’intensità del pianoforte cerco di dire: “C’è speranza, dopo tutto!”. Ho chiamato questa serie “Voyages III”: è l’ultimo capitolo di diversi assoli denominata “Voyages I II III”, che andranno in scena a Parigi il 17 e il 18 settembre presso il Teatro di Ménilmontant. Questo spettacolo è stato apprezzato dal direttore del teatro e dal sindaco di Libourne, Philippe Buisson. Hanno deciso di offrirmi la possibilità di ballare ancora una volta, alla fine di quest’anno. (Le date arriveranno a breve).
Il video è stato fatto per il nuovo sito che sarà online a metà di marzo. Fino a questo momento TIMEless Ballet non aveva video abbastanza buoni da promuovere la nostra attività. Così ho chiamato il duetto di fotografi, Pierre & Florent, ho commissionato loro un video, perché ritengo che abbiano uno stile molto interessante e unico. Loro hanno trovato i luoghi ideali che rappresentassero bene l’atmosfera che volevo nella mia danza.”

“TIMEless Ballet has been through a lot of changes during 2012. With the members of the company we decided to focus on one dancer. We also decided to change the website, the world of the company and the choreographic style. We decided to forget for a while the ballet “Butterfly” and to focus on smaller ballets. The 13th of December 2012, Dominique Belly, the director of the theatre “Le Liburnia” in Libourne, a town next to Bordeaux, gave me the opportunity to dance and prove what the company can do with a show that last 10 minutes. I accepted and prepared two solos in only 3 weeks. One on the music of the post punk band Bauhaus and one on the 20th Nocturne of Frederic Chopin. But the most important for me, it was not only to show a choreography, but to prove that 10 min can be enough to tell a story. That’s why I thought an interlude would be justified between the two solos. In this interlude I’ve tried to explain how I feel about the world today. At this time, medias kept on showing the terrible things that were happening in Syria. It reminded me of the slaughter of Sabra and Chatila that took place in Palestine in 1982 and I got stroke by the idea that the world hadn’t change in 30 year. That’s why I took the noises of an atomic bomb and women cries during the slaughter of Sabra and Chatila. Chopin’s nocturne come after this interlude and with the dance and the intensity of the piano I try to mean “there is hope after all!”. I’ve called this serie of solos “Voyages III”;  it’s the last chapter of several solos named “Voyages I II III” which will be show in Paris on the 17th and 18th of September at the Theatre de Ménilmontant.

This show has been appreciated by the director of the theater and the mayor of Libourne, Philippe Buisson. They decided to offer me the chance to dance again in the end of this year. (Dates coming soon).  The video have been made for the new upcoming website which will be online in the middle of march. Until there TIMEless Ballet had no videos good enough to promote the company. So I called the duet of photographers, Pierre & Florent, I’ve ordered a video from them, because I believe they really have their own style. They found the perfect places that could fit with the ambiance I wanted in my dance.”
