Eccoci arrivati alla quarta puntata della serie “Sonata”, video realizzati da Richard Gerst in esclusiva per lepilloledistefano. Ed ecco come racconta questo nuovo lavoro il fotografo che ha sede a New York. / We have arrived at the fourth episode of the series “Sonata”, videos made by Richard Gerst exclusively for lepilloledistefano. And here’s what the New York based photographer tell us about his latest work.
“Un uomo si siede da solo in un parco, con vista sull’East River a Manhattan in una notte di tempesta. Si accorge improvvisamente che un altro uomo si sta avvicinando e nel momento in cui questa figura passa. . .sperimenta un déjà vu. È una visione del futuro? Può credere ai propri occhi? Questo è il quarto capitolo della nostra serie Sonata e in questomini fashion film io e Jason, che abbiamo lavorato insieme diverse volte, abbiamo voluto creare un senso di mistero con un racconto breve. Ciò che è fantastico di questi mini “input visivi” è la capacità di creare semplicemente un sentimento o uno stato d’animo. Abbiamo girato il video senza un team o anche solo un treppiede, utilizzando un lampione e l’iphone per la luce. Le riprese sono durate circa 90 minuti, la post-produzione un giorno. Sono affascinato dalla potenza degli attuali sensori delle macchine digitali e di come può apparire cinematografico quello che catturano.” / “A man sits alone in a park, overlooking the East River in Manhattan on a stormy night. He suddenly notices another man approaching and as the man passes by. . . he experiences a déja vu. Is it a vision from the future? Can he believe his eyes? This is the 4th installment in our Sonata Series and in this mini fashion film, Jason and I, who have worked together several times, wanted to create a feeling of mystery with a small narrative. What is great about these mini visual “doodles” is the ability to create simply a feeling or mood. We shot it without crew or tripod, using only a streetlamp and iphone for light. The shoot took about 90 minutes; post production a day. I am fascinated by the power of current sensors and how filmic they can look.”
