“Amo definirmi e definire la mia visione del mondo Lagom: è una parola svedese, in realtà intraducibile, che significa abbastanza moderato, sufficiente, equilibrato, perfettamente semplice, adeguato.. insomma, giusto. È la mia filosofia: non amo spiccare ma amo le cose belle, senza troppi fronzoli, che possano essere utili o inutili, ma pensate comunque per il solo scopo di piacere”.
Parrebbero parole fuoriuscite da un autoritratto patinato di un creativo di lunga maturazione.
Invece appartengono alla spontaneità talentuosa di Bartolomeo Borghesani: giovane e ben promettente nuova leva che ha appena sfilato con la sua collezione all’evento IED Graduates Fashion Show a Milano.
L’origine è di Reggio Emilia, la città d’elezione è Milano, perché “la moda la si impara qui”: Bartolomeo è un condensato di consapevolezza e apertura, serba ben chiaro il valore dell’arte e del design, la bellezza della natura delle cose e l’importanza semplice ma concreta dei materiali che ha appreso dai genitori; di suo mette un passato di appassionato di hip hop e uno stile personale nato da cultore del vintage, evoluto poi nel nuovo che risuona nell’ispirazione al mondo, o meglio al tempio di Prada, alla meravigliosa attualità di Céline e al realismo very cool di Acne.
L’apertura è grazie ai viaggi e rivolta soprattutto verso i paesi nordici: l’esperienza in Finlandia squisitamente personale e un viaggio in Islanda che è divenuto materia d’ispirazione per la collezione in passerella al Graduates Fashion Show.
Con le sue creazioni Bartolomeo ne racconta i colori, la differenza tra il suo lato molto elegante e delicato, e l’altro così forte e inquieto di vulcani e ghiacciai: ma ne narra anche una storia tutta sua, di elfi e creature nascoste che volano e danzano in quei paesaggi mozzafiato.
Fantasia e realtà che si concretizzano in capi unisex, ovvero che assecondano sia il maschile che il femminile: per l’aspetto morbido e accogliente, comodo e caldo, per i colori che appartengono al viaggio e per i tessuti molto naturali e di bellezza pregiata (cady di seta, alpaca, lana, cashgora); ma anche per gli accessori come le collane con un ciondolo in vera roccia lavica, sciarpe, cappelli e babbucce accoglienti e dolci come i grandi maglioni oversize fatti a mano in cui immergersi.
Progetti per il futuro? “Io spero che la mia strada nella moda sia una scala in salita, a piccoli passi, non aspiro al successo: farò sicuramente molta gavetta all’inizio, l’importante è essere rispettato. Non vedo l’ora di cominciare!”

Debuting talents on the IED Graduates Fashion Show runway: Bartolomeo Borghesani
“I love to define myself, my style and my world view, Lagom: it’s a Swedish word, that actually can’t be translated in other languages, meaning rather moderate, sufficient, balanced, perfectly simple, appropriate … hence, right. It’s my philosophy: I don’t like to stand out but I love beautiful things, with no frills, that could be useful or useless, but anyhow conceived with the only aim of delighting.” They could sound like words poured out from the glossy portrait of a mature creative designer. Instead, they belong to the talented genuineness of Bartolomeo Borghesani: a young fashion designer that looks very promising and has just taken part in the IED Fashion Graduates Show event in Milan with his collection.
The origin is in Reggio Emilia, the city of choice is Milan, because “fashion must be learnt here”: Bartolomeo is a nice amalgam of awareness and open-mindedness, he keeps clear the value of art and design, the beauty of things nature and the simple yet concrete importance of materials that he learnt from his parents; on his own side he has a past of hip hop passionate, and a personal style born as a vintage connoisseur, evolved into new inspirations like the world, or rather the temple, of Prada, the gorgeous newness of Céline and the concreteness very cool of Acne.
The open-mindedness is thanks to travels and mainly devoted to the Northern countries: the exquisitely personal experience in Finland and a journey in Iceland that turned to be the inspiration for the collection that walked the runway of the Graduates Fashion Show. With his creations Bartolomeo tells about the colors, the difference between its very elegant and delicate side, and the other one so strong and restless with volcanoes and glaciers: but he tells also a story of his own, about hidden elves and creatures flying and dancing in those breath-taking landscapes.
Imagination and reality that materialize in unisex clothes, that is appeasing both women and men: for their appearance soft and cozy, comfortable and warm, for the colors that are those of the journey, and for the very natural and truly noble fabrics; but also for the accessories like the necklaces with a charm made of igneous rock, scarves hats and slippers snug and sweet, like the handmade oversize knitwear where you can sink in.
Projects about the future? “I hope that my way will in the fashion world be an uphill scale, with small steps, I don’t wish for success: at the beginning I’ll climb the latter for sure, but I think that being respected is the very important thing, I look forward to starting!
