Pins (dall'Archivio Guerrini)

Curiosando e mettendo ordine nell’Archivio Guerrini ho scovato un astuccio che da un po’ non aprivo. Ho rovesciato il contenuto sulla scrivania ed ecco apparire parte della mia collezione di spillette varie (in realtà non è una collezione vera e propria, ma solo il frutto del mio acquisto seriale di tutto ciò che si avvicina ad una pin…e quindi per casa ne girano miliardi!). Ne ho fotografate alcune da mostrarvi. Accanto all’immancabile Hello Kitty, alle scritte più o meno ironiche, anche alcune chicche. Ad esempio quelle provenienti da mie visite passate alla Biennale d’Arte di Venezia (adoro ‘I’m a conceptual piece of art’), quelle di Batman e Superman, che risalgono al mio primo viaggio a Londra nel lontano 1987 (cioè un’epoca glaciale fa!), quella del ‘Who’s that girl World Tour’ di Madonna (originale e possiedo ancora anche il tour programme-book), quella stile ‘medaglia all’onore’ dei Duran Duran (anche quella era parte del materiale in vendita durante un vecchio tour della band, sempre 1987, evidentemente mio anno karmico!). Immancabili i riferimenti ad alcuni miei miti, da Haring a Warhol, passando per le serie tv anni sessanta-settanta-ottanta e Tarantino!

Browsing and bringing order to the Guerrini’s Archive, I found a case that I haven’t opened for a long time. I spilled the contents on the desk and now you can see part of my collection of different badges (actually it is not a proper collection, it’s more the result of my serial disease of buying everything that look like a pin…and so now billions of them can be found around my poor house!). So I photographed a few of them for you. Alongside the inevitable Hello Kitty ones, some with more or less ironical writings on them, some are in my opinion really cool. For example: those from my past visits to the Venice Art Biennale (I totally love ‘I’m a conceptual piece of art’), the Batman and Superman ones, going back to my first trip to London back in 1987 (ages ago!), the Madonna’s ‘Who’s That Girl World Tour’ badge (the original and I also have the book of that tour), the Duran Duran’s medal (also part of the material that was for sale during a tour of the band, also 1987, apparently my karmic year!). Inevitable references to some of my icons and myths, from Haring to Warhol, through the sixties-seventies-eighties TV series and Tarantino!
