Quando il fotografo mi ha proposto di fare alcuni scatti a Sean Faris ho subito detto sì, Sean ha un volto solare ed è davvero difficile non rimanerne affascinati. Dubito che non conosciate l’attore americano, perché è stato protagonista di una serie televisiva che è stata trasmessa più volte (da MTV Italia e più recentemente da DeeJay Tv), cioè la popolare, anche se di breve durata, “Life as we know it”. Ma la carriera dell’attore comprende molti momenti e tappe importanti, lavori anche al fianco di nomi notissimi del cinema, sino all’arrivo nel cast di una serie che so molti di voi amano, cioè “Pretty Little Liars”. Quindi vi propongo oggi, non solo gli scatti molti belli che Dibble ha realizzato con Sean Faris, ma anche la mia chiacchierata con lui. Enjoy! / Another exclusive that you can see on lepilloledistefano thanks to Christopher Dibble. When the photographer asked me if I was interested in a shoot for the blog with Sean Faris, I immediately said yes, Sean has an amazing, bright face and it’s really hard not to be charmed by him. I doubt that you do not know the American actor, because he starred in a television series that was broadcast several times here in Italy (by MTV Italy and more recently by DeeJay TV), which is the popular, though short-lived, “Life as we know it”. But the actor’s career includes many moments and important steps, including works with very famous movie names, until his arrival in the cast of a series that I know many of you love a lot, I’m talking of “Pretty Little Liars”. So today I publish and show you, not only the many beautiful images that Dibble has done with Sean Faris, but also my interview to him. And I’m sure the actor, one of the best of his generation, will have in the future an even more brilliant career. Enjoy!

Prima di tutto, potresti raccontarmi quando ti sei avvicinato al mondo della recitazione e quando questo è diventato un lavoro vero e proprio? /First of all could you tell me when did you approach your work as an actor and when did playing became a proper work?
Ho iniziato a dedicarmi alla recitazione quando ero al liceo. Ho preso un paio di lezioni di teatro e mi sono subito molto interessato e questa esperienza mi ha incuriosito. Dopo il diploma di scuola superiore, mi sono trasferito a Los Angeles e ha cominciato a studiare recitazione a livello professionale a tempo pieno. Nel giro di due anni e mezzo avevo già lavorato in diverse trasmissioni televisive come guest star e avevo ottenuto il mio primo ruolo da protagonista in uno show chiamato ” Life As We Know It”. / I first started to pursue acting when I was in high school. I took a couple of theatre classes and found myself very interested and intrigued by the experience. Upon graduation from high school, I moved to Los Angeles and began to study acting on a professional level full time. Within two and a half years I had worked on several tv shows as a guest star, and my first lead role on a show called “Life As We Know It”.
Puoi dirci qualcosa della tua carriera fino ad ora . Qual è la cosa di cui sei più orgoglioso? / Can you tell us something about your career so far. Which is the thing you are more proud of?
Sono molto orgoglioso del fatto che amo quello che faccio e mi sforzo di crescere , imparare e di essere un attore migliore ogni giorno che passa. / I am most proud of the fact that I love what I do and strive to grow, learn, and be a better actor every day that goes by.
Il tuo debutto è stato al fianco di Ben Affleck nel famoso kolossal “Pearl Harbor”. Cosa ricordi di quel periodo? / Your debut was alongside Ben Affleck on blockbuster “Pearl Harbor”. What do you remember of that time?
Nel guardare indietrro al mio debutto in ” Pearl Harbor “, ricordo che ero un ragazzino con le stelle negli occhi e sogni sconfinati nella testa . E devo dirti che sono ancora pieno di sogni… / In looking back to my debut in “Pearl Harbor” I remember being a kid with stars in my eyes and boundless dreams in my head. I’m still full of dreams….

Nel tuo percorso hai anche vinto un MTV Movie Award per “Never Back Down “(“Mai arrendersi”, ndr) , un film che è diventato una sorta di cult adolescenziale. Perché pensi che la gente sia così attratta da quel film? / You have also won an MTV Movie Award for “Never back down”, a movie that became a sort of teen cult. Why do you think people is so attracted by that movie?
“Never Back Down” è un film molto ispirato. C’è un messaggio positivo da cui imparare. Il bullismo a scuola è diventato una sorta di epidemia negli ultimi dieci anni circa. La storia fornisce una prospettiva diversa per i ragazzi, l’invito a vedere che si può alzare la testa per se stessi e per quelli che ne hanno bisogno. Sono anche sicuro che non abbia nuociuto alla pellicola il fatto che siamo a torso nudo per almeno la metà di essa. / “Never Back Down” is a very inspirational film. There is a positive message to be taken from it. Bullying in school has become quite an epidemic in the last decade or so. I feel “Never back down” provides a perspective for kids to see that they can stand up for themselves and for others who need it. I’m also sure it doesn’t hurt that we are shirtless through half of the film either.

Hai lavorato in spettacoli televisivi, ma anche per pellicole cinematografiche. Quale dei due mondi preferisci e quali sono le principali differenze tra questi tipi di lavori? / You have worked in tv shows and in movies. Which one do you prefer and which are the main differences in those kinds of works?
La scelta tra il film e la televisione non è un problema a mio parere, entrambi sono validi. Si tratta veramente di quanto tu sia appassionato al progetto in questione, che sia per la tv o per il cinema. TV è interessante per la consistenza dei lavori, ma il cinema è impressionante perché finisci il lavoro dopo pochi mesi e puoi poi passare alla storia successiva che deve essere raccontata. / Choosing between film and television is a toss-up in my opinion. It really comes down to how passionate you are about the project. TV is great because of the consistency of the work, but film is awesome because you finish the job after several months and then move on to the next story that is to be told.
Come ti prepari per i tuoi ruoli. Dove trovi l’ispirazione per il tuo lavoro di attore? Quali sono i tuoi modelli di riferimento? Chi sono i nomi che ammiri di più in questo settore? / How do you prepare for your roles? Where do you find inspiration as an actor? Which are your role models? Who are the names that you admire the most in this industry?
Differenti ruoli richiedono forme di preparazione diversa. Tutto dipende dal personaggio particolare, che si sta interpretando. La mia ispirazione come attore è guidato dalla vita stessa. I momenti semplici che fanno sorridere, ridere o anche piangere. Queste sono le cose che rendono la vita bella. Voglio solo esprimere tutto questo. Per me i migliori del settore sono Meryl Streep, Daniel Day Lewis e Anthony Hopkins, una spanna sopra a tutti gli altri. Continuano a stupirmi ogni volta che affrontano un nuovo ruolo. / Various roles require different forms of prep. It all depends on the particular character that you are playing. My inspiration as an actor is driven by life itself. The simple moments that make you smile, laugh or even cry. These are the moments that make life beautiful. I just want to express it. To me the best in the business are Meryl Streep, Daniel Day Lewis and Anthony Hopkins by a long shot. They continue to amaze every time they take on a new role.

Ci sono dei ricordi che ti sono cari che riguardano l’aver lavorato con loro? / You have worked with famous names in the movie industry, Academy Award-winners like Forest Whitaker and Dennis Quaid or Rene Russo. Which lessons have you learned on a set with people like that? Are there any memories that are dear to you from working with them?
Ho avuto la fortuna di lavorare con un certo numero di premi Oscar e di candidati alla statuetta. Per questo sono grato per i grandi consigli e punti di vista che mi sono arrivati in vari momenti della mia carriera. For this I am grateful because of the great advice and outlook that has been bestowed upon me at various points in my career. Most recently I worked with Forrest Whitaker who is an incredibly calm, easy going and down to earth guy. I was able to learn a lot about humility in our time together. Not to mention that every time the camera was rolling I was receiving the best acting lesson one could ask for. Truly one of my favorite moments in my life as an actor.
” Pretty Little Liars ” è abbastanza famoso qui in Italia. Ora sei parte del cast. Ci puoi dire qualcosa della vita sul set? / “Pretty Little liars” is quite famous here in Italy. Now you are part of the cast. Can you tell us something about life on that set?
La vita sul set dello show è davvero meravigliosa. Tutti nel cast sono persone con cui è facile andare d’accordo e con i piedi per terra. Le persone coinvolte nella realizzazione degli episodi sono fantastiche e con delle belle personalità. Tutti i produttori ei registi dello show sono tranquilli ed è divertente passarci del tempo insieme. Devo dire che ” Pretty Little Liars ” è una delle migliori serie in cui io abbia mai lavorato. / Life on the set of the show is pretty awesome. Everyone on the cast is down to earth and easy going. The crew is full of great people with wonderful personalities. All the producers and directors are lighthearted and fun to be around. I have to say that “Pretty Little liars” is one of the best sets I have ever worked on.

Quale è il ruolo che sogneresti di interpretare? / Which is your dream-role?
Mi piacerebbe un giorno recitare in una serie di film come la trilogia di “Bourne”. Pellicole con la giusta quantità di azione, ricca di significato e di una buona dose di dramma. / I would love to someday play in a series of films like the “Bourne” trilogy. It has just the right amount of action along with a great storyline that is loaded with substance and drama.
Dal momento che questo blog è molto legato allo stile, potreste dirmi qual è la tua definizione di eleganza? / Since this blog is a lot related to style, could you tell me what’s your definition of elegance?
Per me, l’eleganza è quando stile e grazia incontrano la semplicità. Dovrebbe sempre essere senza sforzo. / To me, elegance is when style and grace meet simplicity. it should always be effortless.
