È uno dei volti della serie televisiva “Vegas”, che ha per protagonista Dennis Quaid e negli States va in onda sulla CBS, ma anche se non seguite questo programma sicuramente lo ricordate. Quando il fotografo Christopher Dibble, ormai un contributor fisso de lepilloledistefano, mi ha proposto un servizio e una intervista a Taylor Handley ho fatto una piccola ricerca e mi sono accorto che l’attore è molto noto perché ha preso parte a molte serie tv, alcune delle quali sono diventati dei veri e propri cult per i telespettatori di mezzo mondo! È un piacere quindi ospitare lo shooting fotografico esclusivo che Dibble ha realizzato con protagonista Taylor Handley e ovviamente non potevo farmi sfuggire l’occasione di farvi conoscere meglio questo attore con un mia intervista. Quando hai iniziato a recitare e quando hai deciso che fare l’attore sarebbe stato il tuo lavoro? / When did you begin acting and when did you decide that acting was your career?
Ho iniziato a recitare professionalmente all’età di 13 anni. Quando mi sono assicurato il mio primo ingaggio, ho capito di aver trovato quello che volevo fare nella vita. / I started acting professionally at age 13. When I booked my first gig, I knew I had found what I wanted to do in life.
Recitare è qualcosa che hai sempre voluto fare sin da bambino? / Was acting something you always wanted to do since childhood?
Ho fatto la mia prima recita quando avevo sei anni. Ricordo la sensazione di grande energia che arrivava dal pubblico. È stato molto inebriante, così ho continuato a recitare e sapevo che un giorno avrei avuto la possibilità di intraprendere completamente quella strada. / I did my first play when I was six. I remember the feeling of the audiences’ energy. It was very intoxicating, so I continued to perform and knew that someday I would have a chance to take it all the way.
Hai avuto ruoli in alcuni delle più importanti e iconiche serie televisive dei nostri tempi. Da “CSI” a “The OC”, da “Numb3rs” a “Law and Order”. Cosa hai imparato lavorando in questi importanti set? E c’è un ricordo speciale di quei lavori che desideri condividere con noi? / You had roles in some of the most important and iconic tv-series of our times. From “CSI” to “The OC”, from “Numb3rs” to “Law and Order”. What did you learn on these important sets? And there is a special memory about those works you want to share with us?
Ho sicuramente imparato come funziona un set, come si lavora in produzioni così importanti. Ho cercato di immergermi in essi, quanto più io abbia potuto. Senza una evoluzione in questo business, la tua carriera è morta … o noiosa. / I learned how sets work. I am always soaking in as much as I can. Without evolution in this business, your career is dead…or boring.
Chi sono i tuoi modelli di riferimento come attore? Quali sono le persone che ammiri? / Who are your role models as an actor? Which are the people you admire?
Ammiro gli attori che sono capaci di risucchiarti totalmente nel loro mondo, che ti prendee ti portano nel loro viaggio, nel percorso che compie il loro personaggio. Alcuni dei miei preferiti sono Brando, Newman, McQueen, Redford, Pacino e De Niro. / I admire the actors that suck you in to their world, that take you for a ride. Some of my favorites are Brando, Newman, McQueen, Redford, Pacino and De Niro.
Il più grande successo ottenuto secondo te fino ad oggi nel tuo lavoro? / Biggest achievement to date in your work?
Che sono stato in grado di lavorare costantemente da quando ho iniziato. / That I’ve been able to work steadily since I started.

Ogni esperienza è diversa. Ogni progetto che ho fatto ha una sua storia, e fortunatamente tutti sono stati grandi. / Each experience is different. Each project I’ve done has its own story, and fortunately they have all been great.

Il mio stile quotidiano si basa su pantaloni in denim, magliette e stivali. Il mio capo preferito invece è una giacca in pelle che mio fratello ha rubato ha qualcuno negli anni Ottanta. / Jeans, T-shirt, boots. My favorite piece is a leather jacket my brother stole from someone in the 80s.
